Gaga Pit

In 2014, the fundraising committee raised about $3,000 over budget expectations, so all profits from the recent special lunch/Footsteps Dance Company disco will be pooled together with this money to build a “Gaga Pit” in the first week of the school holidays.

On 27th May 2015, Karen Starkiss  provided four hours of presentations to all of our staff around the topic of Dyslexia. Karen is the director of Learning and Development at SPELD an organisation dedicated to research, development and education of Specific Learning Difficulties, and she has established the Dyslexia  Support Services.

New Department App

The Department of Education and Training has released an app which is designed to help you better understand the curriculum we use to teach your children every day. The app, called SchoolMate, is available for free download now in the App Store for iPhones and iPads and in Google Play for Android phones and tablets.

Pupil Free Day

Please remember that Tuesday, May 26th is a pupil free day where staff will be  working on student leadership development and dyslexia awareness. Students are not  required at school on this day. If you require the services of our Out of School Hours Care on Tuesday, please make sure you have registered this with Matt prior to the day.

Our Book Fair will be held from 19th May until 21st May and will be open for sales 8.30am—9.00am and 3.30pm –4.00pm. It will also be open Thursday fom 9.00am—9.30am for parents to purchase.

Next week is, for many years 3,5,7 and 9 students across the country, a week that causes a great deal of anxiety, and yet it shouldn’t. Next week is NAPLAN Week- the National Assessment Program in Literacy and Numeracy. All students in these year levels, with the exception of those that have been exempt or withdrawn, will undergo a series of assessments in Reading, Writing, Spelling and Grammar, Writing Conventions and Number. These assessments will occur on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
